I think it’s important when you make resolutions to state them publicly to help keep yourself accountable for them. If no one knows about it, and you didn’t exactly accomplish it, then who really cares, right?

Well, here are my new years resolutions:
Discover my style and work it. I feel like I’m a jumbled mix of styles and I’ve been having a hard time really owning it. Time to figure it out and work it.
Stick to the healthy crap. Yep, I’m there with most of y’all. My exercise routine is… well, what exercise routine? And my eating habits suck. Time to mix in some consistent workouts and healthier foods. Although I have no plans of giving up my Double Stuff Oreos completely.
Shower before 11am. One of the benefits to working from home is not having to get up early, shower and what not. But I find I’m much more productive once I’ve showered and gotten dressed. Therefore, my goal is to be ready and showered before 11am.
Continue growing my social media accounts. Social media has been a growing thing for me in 2012 and I’d like to see it continue to grow consistently. Speaking of, are you a fan on Facebook yet? Or are you following on Twitter? How about Pinterest? Lol – sorry couldn’t help it!
Spend more time away from the TV and more time with books. I have a tendency to be a TV-addict and I don’t like that. I blame the fact that Mr. Blue Eyes and I live in a small apartment and there’s not to much to really do, but I have a million books on my must-read list and there’s no reason why I can’t start tackling that more.
Get rid of our cable. I guess this goes with the one above, but I’d really like to nix our cable and therefore, our cable bill. I did some research and found out we can save some significant dough if we ditch Comcast and just go with the Hulu/Netflix thing. Now, I just have to do it.
Hire some great peeps. I’m always looking to grow the company and I’d really like to find some great people to add to the DPNAK team. Interested? Fill out this form.
Save money for upcoming events and workshops. There are so many events that I’d love to attend that are major-holy-moly events. My plan for 2013 is to save enough moo-lah for 2014 to attend at least one of these bad boys. (we’re talking thousands of dollars here, people)
Budget our personal life. Mr. Blue Eyes and I love to eat out and do stuff. Unfortunately, I feel like we’re being a little too spendy and should start really looking at where our money is going. So I’m following my own advice and want to create a household budget. Then we can see where we can save and how much sushi we need to stop eating (but it’s sooo good!).
Travel more. I suppose this could contradict the above, but I absolutely must go somewhere this year. Somewhere that I don’t know someone, that is (a.k.a. family trips don’t count). High on my list of places to go to are Chicago, Las Vegas and Disney. I don’t see Disney happening yet, but we shall see. I guess this is where the whole budget thing comes in, huh?
Alright – so I think that’s good… for now. What will you be resolving to do this year? Anyone with me on the above? Support systems always work wonders!
Cheers,

Love these goals, Danielle! You’re going to have an AMAZING year personally and professionally, I can feel it :) Thrilled to be on this journey with you!! xoxo
I can relate to a lot of the items on your list – trying to save $$ (less takeout, more cooking), and spend more time with friends, travelling, and pursuing my crafty dreams. One word of caution about the TV resolution…we got rid of cable 2 years ago and have streaming Netflix..which saves lots of $$ but can be as much of a time suck if you aren’t careful. One day you decide to give Friday Night Lights a try and several seasons later you realize you haven’t left the couch in a week.
Meg – I can definitely see that happening. Oh decisions, decisions.
I do hope you find some great people to add to your team. I’m happy to be back in Raleigh, NC but, I do miss working with you. I had a blast and wish it could have lasted a lot longer. You’re a great boss in addition to being a fabulous coordinator!
Aww – thank you Alex! I’m definitely missing your humor and helping hands. It was a pleasure getting to know you even for such a short period of time. :)
