Carolyn and Nick’s Simple and Fun Penn Museum Wedding

Carolyn and Nick are the type of couple that you just wish you were friends with. They’re sweet, kind, thoughtful, fun, and have a deep love for adventures together.

When they first reached out to me, we hit it off right away and I couldn’t wait to join their team of already stellar pros, including my podcast co-host buddy, Daniel Moyer Photography.

Their wedding took place in early June 2022 at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, PA. During our first walkthrough of the space, I think I said, “THIS SPACE IS SO COOL!” about a hundred times — because it totally is. From a guest experience, it’s the type of venue that really wows guests and gives them a unique experience.

The couple and their VIPs got ready at Hotel Palomar in the heart of Philadelphia. Mack Stylist, one of my favorite Philly hair and makeup artists, was on-site helping everyone look gorgeous. And when it was time to head out for photos, Sterling Limousine did a great job of handling all the transportation needs for the couple, their VIPs, and the guests.

Dan took the couple to Rittenhouse Square for their First Looks and some portraits. Afterwards, the couple and their entire wedding party made their way to the Philadelphia Navy Yard for some fun photos together.

Fun fact: When we were in the planning process, I recommended that Carolyn and Nick NOT go down to the Navy Yard for photos. I was concerned about unpredictable Philly traffic and felt like it was going to eat into too much time in their day. Luckily, Carolyn and Nick advocated that it was important to them and worth the potential hurdles. And I’m so happy that they did — just look at these beautiful shots from the Navy Yard!

We opted to have the ceremony in the Warden Garden on the west side around six in the evening. The sun was lower in the sky creating some shade for the couple. And I absolutely LOVED the bride’s entrance down the steps, to meet her parents at the bottom. MY HEART, Y’ALL.

After their vows, guests headed to the east side of the garden for a picture-perfect cocktail hour.

This gorgeous bride earned some major wifey points when we secretly booked the NJ Devils mascot to surprise her groom and casually make an appearance at their cocktail hour.

The look on his face said it all!

After some heartfelt toasts, everyone headed into the Chinese Rotunda for an unforgettable dinner experience, catered by CxRA. Following that, guests made their way into the Upper Egypt Gallery for cake, dancing, and all the celebrating!

Congratulations, Carolyn and Nick on an incredible and intentional wedding day! You were amazing to work with and I’ll forever be grateful for your friendship.

“Not only did she keep us organized and have great recommendations, but she was very supportive throughout the whole process. I literally don’t know what I would have done without her…”
