Saucon Valley Country Club Wedding: Maggie and Josh’s Microwedding

Maggie and Josh’s Saucon Valley Country Club wedding was a beautiful and intentional micro-celebration to kick off the Fall season and the start of their marriage.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Maggie, Josh, and their families since 2019. What started as a beautiful Spring wedding set to happen in May 2020, quickly became an event that ended up being fully postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But amidst all the shifting, Maggie and Josh knew that while they were excited to celebrate with ALL of their family and friends in 2021, they also didn’t want to wait that long to officially get married.

With the incredible help of Maggie’s Mom, we put together an intimate and stunning microwedding for the couple and 35 other guests that took place in September 2020 at the Saucon Valley Country Club.

Despite the forecast calling for a sunny day all week, Mother Nature decided that a light sprinkle throughout the morning and afternoon would be better. But the minute Maggie and Josh walked down the aisle and faced one another for their vows, the sun suddenly came out. The rest of the evening was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and comfortable for all of their guests.

We kept some of the design details planned for their Spring wedding but made some slight alterations more suitable for Fall. What resulted was an event far more special than any of us could have imagined and a night that I was so thankful to witness.

Personally, I have always been a fan of microweddings. The challenges of 2020 have given more couples the opportunity to have such an intimate and special event.

One of my favorite moments of the entire day (and there were MANY) was at the end of the night. Maggie was jumping onto the shuttle and took a moment to turn to me and say, “This day was everything we didn’t know we wanted. And it was perfect.”

Microweddings are not just a trend or and they don’t have to be the bummer “Plan B”. They can be beautiful, meaningful, and a TON of fun. (And I’m happy to help you ace all three.)
