Bok Wedding | Julia and Brian

It is no secret that I’m a big fan of weddings at the Bok Building in South Philly. It’s full of character, incredible artists, stunning views, and — when it comes to weddings — it always seems to attract some of my FAVORITE clients.

Julia and Brian absolutely fall into that category.

They initially reached out to me about a year-and-a-half before their wedding. After a fabulous first chat, it was clear we were soulmates. And after an even more fabulous year-and-a-half of planning, it was showtime.

Luckily, Warren from Still Wild Visuals was there to capture all of the incredible moments of the day. Combined with the talents of some Philly all-stars like Sage Catering, Ruby Rivers Floral, and Snack Time Philly, it was such a great day.

ENJOY.

Hair and makeup started early in Bok’s on-site Getting Ready Suite — which conveniently looks out over the Gymnasium space. It’s such a great place for getting ready and allows everyone to be together, without being on top of one another.

These little disco ball cups were right on theme,

Meanwhile, Brian and his brothers (who were a total HOOT) opted to walk over to Bok from the couple’s home. Once they arrived to Bok, they made their way to the second Getting Ready Suite (or Coaches Lounge) to finish getting ready. Clearly, Brian’s brothers/Best Men took their job very seriously.

IYKYK. 👆

Some overcast skies were the perfect backdrop for Julia and Brian’s first look moment on the 7th Floor Terrace. Instead of sharing their vows in front of everyone at the ceremony, the opted to do so privately during this time.

If you’re a couple who’s having some feels about bearing your whole heart in front of all of your guests, this private vow exchange is a GREAT way to still have that moment with your partner.

Ruby Rivers Floral provided all of the florals and they were not only stunning, but super unique.

Instead of the event kicking off with a ceremony, Julia and Brian wanted to welcome their guests with an extended Cocktail Hour, featuring Snack Time Philly and Sage Catering, on the Bok Bar rooftop.

After Cocktail Hour, guests made their to the Auditorium for the ceremony. The couple’s friend, Philip, officiated perfectly and had everyone — including the DPNAK team — in stitches.

Straight from the ceremony, it was time to celebrate, toast, eat, drink, and dance under that giant disco ball. 🪩💃🕺

Julia and Brian, you’re a match made in the coolest part of heaven. Thank you for trusting me with all of the amazing details of your day — and for becoming such lovely friends! Congrats!

Kind words from Julia following their wedding:

There truly are no words to describe how invaluable Danielle is when planning your wedding. Her organization is out of this world and will guide you through this very overwhelming process with absolute ease. Our day was absolutely perfect and I KNOW it was because we worked with Danielle.
